Decorative embroidery - for adding a personal touch.
These workshops focuses on decorative embroidery techniques, where participants learn 3 to 5 decorative stitches; covering the basics such as the Running Stitch, the Backstitch, the Chain Stitch and advanced stitches such as the Blanket stitch and French knots.
How many stitches we can cover depends on the number of participants and if there is anyone assisting me.
In each workshop, participants focus on embroidering one thing - this depends on the clients and what they want the participants to achieve.
Examples of workshops I’ve done previously;
Embroidering their own fabric patches
Embroidering tote bags with embroidery and upcycled fabrics
Customising their own garments
Embroidering on paper to explore community and history
Recommended Number of Participants per workshop: 5-20
(The larger the group, the less stitches they learn)
Age group: 13+ (will be using blunt needles)
Time for workshop: 2.5-3 hours.
Assistance Needed: Recommended for groups of more than 15 people
